- Home! Book all scanned. All 844 pages, plus appendices. Took til 11:45. :P 01:29:51, 2011-12-18
- @penguat Sorry it didn't come off today, but the scanning was continuous work. Wouldn't have been very social. :/ in reply to penguat 01:32:52, 2011-12-18
- Met some nice folk from the Occupy movement and chatted. 01:35:25, 2011-12-18
- Space was empty a lot though so just sat and listened to music while scanning. Rather meditative. 01:35:44, 2011-12-18
- @ruthi Likewise. I couldn't say no. Not supposed to be spending anything now, but that's only like £2 for the HD version. o_o in reply to ruthi 02:04:50, 2011-12-18
- @MssZydrate Would 50yr olds be better? in reply to MssZydrate 14:38:01, 2011-12-18
- Scanning all the figures in the book using the flatbed. Book-scanner didn't grab images well. 17:11:07, 2011-12-18
- Will have to improve my Inkscape skills. Both for laser-cutting and making new clean versions of these graphics. 17:13:30, 2011-12-18
- @GraafenBlackpaw Planning the same. Keeping my eye on various electric scooter bits. in reply to GraafenBlackpaw 18:00:52, 2011-12-18
- @Scaley_Jencen It does look better featured, but would have to buy a copy. Cheapest looks like £60. in reply to Scaley_Jencen 18:54:54, 2011-12-18
- @Scaley_Jencen I'm also looking at making vector versions of some 1860s copperplate images. Lots of dotted lines. in reply to Scaley_Jencen 18:59:36, 2011-12-18
- @swaldman Maybe they're opening for Hotblack Desiato and Disaster Area? in reply to swaldman 19:01:58, 2011-12-18
- @Scaley_Jencen No, these would be for reprint, not etch. Tho interesting idea. in reply to Scaley_Jencen 19:02:34, 2011-12-18
- @Scaley_Jencen I've been scanning an out-of-copyright book. Will go on Guttenburg, but it could do with an edited reprint. in reply to Scaley_Jencen 19:31:47, 2011-12-18
- @MrCullen This. in reply to MrCullen 19:50:56, 2011-12-18
- @MrCullen Attach it to a steel-cable auto-reel. Attach that to belt. in reply to MrCullen 19:55:25, 2011-12-18
- @Glinner @Arthur_Pie So it's still PC gone mad, just the PC is the sort that sits on a desk. :P in reply to Glinner 20:23:35, 2011-12-18
- Whew! All the figures and plates scanned separately now. High enough res remaking them shouldn't be a problem. Just time-consuming. 21:11:07, 2011-12-18
- @Scaley_Jencen May do. they're quite complex though. Starting to think CAD software may be best. But regardless want to get it accurate.. in reply to Scaley_Jencen 21:19:17, 2011-12-18
- @Scaley_Jencen 300dpi for the plates, but they need un-distorting because of the page-fold. in reply to Scaley_Jencen 21:23:49, 2011-12-18
